So it's now been 18 months since my RNY and things couldn't be any better for me! I have went from a size 28 to a size 8/10 in bottoms and from a 3x to a small/medium in tops. From 298 lbs to 149 lbs..I've lost 150 lbs!!! I ran a 5k in May, went to Disney World in May for the first time since losing weight and didn't have to worry about not fitting into any of the rides, went on a mission trip to Haiti where we had to hike in the jungle and I had no problem doing it, and my husband and I are now trying to concieve our third child! I am the healthiest I have ever been and I am so thankful for this life changing surgery! I pray I will NEVER go back to what I once was and I don't have any intentions on letting that happen! I will go for my next check up with Dr. Bour in November and I'm sure things will be great! I still LOVE my RNY!!!

My First 5k Race~WOW Moment!
About to cross the finish line!!!
Ready to get my 5k on!!
This past Friday I ran my first 5k race ever and words cannot describe how amazing it was for me to cross the finish line!! I did pretty good for my first one and clocked in at 38:17! I beat a good amount of people who I went with who had done one previously and I wasn't too far behind people I know that run on a regular basis, so it was quite an accomplishment for me! I am now registered for my next race which will be in June and I can't wait...I hope to improve and beat my previous time and clock in at 30 minutes..we'll see what happens :-)
I NEVER thought this to be possible a little over a year ago and I am so proud that I was able to check it off my list of goals for myself. I actually enjoy running and that was something I never thought I'd hear myself say. My RNY has truly allowed me to spread my wings and fly~right across the finish line!!!

One Year Surgiversary
I'm a little late on my one year surgiversary post, but better late than never, LOL!
I had my one year surgiversary on March 9th and my appt for that went excellent! All my labs looked awesome, my weight loss was at 80% of excess lost and my surgeon didn't even recognize me! I did have to have another hospital visit due to complications from my rny...I had some adhesions/scar tissue removed and the part that secures your bowels in place had to be repaired because of the amount of weight I have lost and so rapidly, it had come loose and was allowing my bowels to move around freely-not supposed to happen, LOL! Nevertheless, I am well and recovered and the surgery wasn't as bad as my hernia repair in Dec., so I am not going to complain that much:)
I have often asked myself and my husband if I have more medical problems now than I did when I was obese and there are times I think I do, but then I look back on what I traded all this for...140 lbs that held me back from doing almost everything in my life and most importantly, held me back from being ME..so, all in all, I may have had more hospital visits in the past year or so, but I would glady take those over 140 lbs of fat any day!! I am in a size medium/9-10 and I weigh 158 lbs compared to a size 28 and 298 lbs last year...YAY for my RNY and YAY for my new lease on life!!

WOW Moment!
Yesterday I had a WOW moment I thought I would share....I rode on a horse for the very first time and I was a bit scared at first, but then it was such a beautiful experience and I was proud because at 298 lbs, I would have never been able to or even think about getting on a horse. Losing over 130 lbs can make you feel like you can do anything your heart desires and I did just that yesterday..YAY ME!

Bittersweet!
Today is a bittersweet day for me because yesterday we miscarried our baby, and our hearts ache because of this loss, but on the otherhand, I am SO PROUD to say that today I have made it to my personal goal weight of 160 lbs and I have done it in a little over 10 months and couldn't be happier! I am no longer overweight, I am considered "normal" for my height and weight and I can't even remember weighing this little, so it just proves that if you want it, you can achieve it!
I have found myself again and nothing feels better than that! From 298 lbs to 160 lbs~ WOOT WOOT!!

Back To Normal!
I have been overweight all my life and after 18 yrs of being overweight, obese and even morbidly obese, I am VERY PROUD to say that I am back to normal with a normal BMI for my height and weight! It feels SO GOOD to be normal again! I have gone from 298 lbs to 161 lbs in 10 months and couldn't be happier or prouder of this accomplishment!
I am also pleased to say that we are pregnant with our third child and couldn't be more happy!!
I praise God every day for a surgery that has truly changed my life for the better!
